My journey in amateur web development.

Version 1

Version 1.1

2019 - I started a Neocities account on a complete whim, just wanted to try building a site completely from scratch.

The first iterations of "The Krypt" are held together with duct tape and bubblegum. I tried making my own GIFs and backgrounds, hence the, uh... rough... presentation. Also, I was a dirty hotlinker.

Although I cringe every time I look at it, this is my origin story in web graphics, so I'm also rather proud of my work here.

Version 2

Version 2.1.1

Version 2.1.2

2019 - Here you can see my experimentation with vaporwave aesthetics and the precursor to the "KryptOS" motif.

Version 2.1.1 & 2.1.2 are experimental "login screens". Wasn't successful at all and frankly really lazy, and completely lacked all content from earlier. I was not a smart man.

KryptOS 3

2020 - The origin of "KryptOS", starting at Version 3. I am very proud of this, despite the rough look and lack of compatability with anything other than Chrome.

Here we see the advent of the CRT filter and the general inspiration of the current look of my site nowadays.

KryptOS 4

2020 - Similar to OS3, with a bit of an aesthetic refresh. Nothing too exciting, really.

KryptOS 5

KryptOS 5.1

2020 - I started really experimenting with laincore and doomer aesthetics, however I did so at the cost of content. Very pretty, very boring.

KryptOS 6

2021 - A return to form... and boy does it suck. CRT cranked up to 11, vaporwave so hard my eyes bleed pink, it's just ugly and chaotic. However, hidden beneath the chaos is the now iconic pink pixel motif for the current KryptOS.

Version 7

Version 8

2021 - Version 7 & 8 are both really just CSS experiments, so I don't count them as KryptOS iterations. 7 is pretty meh, but I'm very proud of the look of 8, took me a long time to get the segmented LCD screen look down pat.
